Taming Tactical Cluster Federation at the Edge

This talk explores the challenges and solutions for tactical cluster federation at the edge, particularly in environments with unstable networks and mobile clusters. The presentation details how Liqo, combined with Telemetry Aware Scheduler (TAS) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR), can create resilient, distributed, and collaborative cloud environments. It showcases a tactical cloud concept developed for the Dutch Ministry of Defence, where vehicles can spontaneously join ad-hoc cloud constellations for resilient computation, using tools like Chaos Mesh to simulate network effects and understand federation behavior under adverse conditions.
