Description

Is it possible to combine the need to conserve the jaguar with the use of Python as a tool to achieve it? Yes, thanks to telemetry processes, we can track individuals from a distance, providing information impossible to collect in person, such as geolocation, speed, heart rate, body temperature, and altitude, among others. In this talk, we will learn how to condense, categorize, and question different environmental domain data into a human-understandable model that can be processed by Python. We will use ArcPy (a Python package for executing geographic functions within ArcGIS Pro) to process data obtained through telemetry and perform geographic analyses that will allow us to understand the behavior of the jaguar and its conservation possibilities. If animals, Python, and conservation are your thing, this talk is a good starting point.
