Cloud Native Edge Computing with KubeEdge: Updates and Future

KubeEdge is an open-source edge computing framework that extends the power of Kubernetes from the cloud to the edge. In this session, Kevin and Yin share the latest updates from KubeEdge, including news from various working groups, new user adoptions in sectors like cloud native satellite and software-defined vehicles, and a demo of new features in release 1.13. The talk also covers KubeEdge's architecture, recent improvements in device management and data plane communication, security audits, and case studies from industries like highways, bridges, and offshore oil fields. The future roadmap includes scenario-based toolkits for AI, IoT, and robotics, expanded hardware and OS support, and conformance testing.
